If this issue only occurs with this particular app and no other apps, you could try updating the application or uninstalling & reinstalling the application. I would also recommend watching the computer for signs of overheating or high CPU usage (e.g. the fans get loud when this application is opened)
If you are using Windows, it may be helpful to use Event Viewer to see if you can find any error messages occurring when the application is opened.
