Check if the firmware needs updating. See the 2nd post in this [https://www.tomtomforums.com/threads/tomtom-go-720-firmware-upgrade.32571/|link] for how to do this.

Also when you're connected to TomTom Home, check if there are any ''QuickGPSfix'' file updates for your model.

If doing the above doesn't resolve the problem then it may be a hardware problem
