I had the component missing pictured which is odd as that is nowhere near the part I was working on. I wonder if that particular component is prone to falling off. Anyway I believe it is a resistor, not a capacitor, it's blue not brown like a capacitor nor is it black or grey like an inductor. I bridged the gap using some carbon contact paint which would introduce a bit of resistance and so far it appears to have worked, I have bluetooth range again!
