need help with ps3 slim power button ribbon cable

i broke my origional power button ribon cable when i was cleaning it the pins are fine but when i bought a new one and placed the cable in the conector and turened on my ps3 the fan started blowing too loud for 7-8 seconds and stoped and there is yellow light
