Washing mashine doesn't go to fast spin cycle - dampers?

My front load lg washing machine ***LG F2DV5S7S0 -*** 2 years old does not want to do fast spin cycle (the last cycle) when the clothes do not fill whole inside or the load is unbalanced - typically when i wash fewer bigger clothes like sweatshirts or bed sheets that get stuck more on one side of the drum. It's a new behaviour, never had that problem in past, now it's pretty much every time.
I read it's typically dampers problem, makes sense to me, so I said hey, they are cheap, why not try it, but now when i have them home, I am surprised - the new ones look exactly the same as the ones in the washing machine, but the force needed to move them is like half of the originals...

Now I think I either bought wrong type or I am stupid for thinking new dampers should be harder to move... But I guess the old dampers are simply alright, no need to change them (I can return the new ones, so no problem)

Can someone help me decide what is it? Maybe even help me with some other suggestions what can cause washing machine to not do the last fast spin cycle and instead just spin slowly with pump running indefinitely, but only if the load is not balanced well? balanced load works without problem.
