Sony Bravia XBR-49X800G Can I replace the WiFi module?

crwdns2934249:0crwdne2934249:0:

I've gone through all the diagnostics and have concluded that the WiFi module on my Sony Bravia TV (XBR-49X800G) has failed. When I try to turn on the TV's WiFi in Settings, the Built-in WiFi works at it for about 5 seconds, then it reverts back to gray (Off). I've updated the firmware via a USB drive and I also tried reverting to the factory settings, all to no avail. Other devices in the house connect flawlessly to our WiFi. I really want to avoid having to run an ethernet cable from the modem/router to the TV, so I'm wondering about a DIY replacement of the WiFi module, assuming I can get hold of a new one.

Does anyone know if it's feasible to replace the WiFi module? Is there more to it than simply replacing a piece of hardware?

Thanks for any insight.
