Sanyo sound sometimes garbled!

My Sanyo TV is 7 years old. Have had no problem with it except the volume could have been higher from beginning. In the past 3 weeks the sound is bad especially if there is music. It seems to be worse on certain channels. Any suggestions? Thanks!
