IT WOKRED, THANK YOU Marla for your post July 9th!!!!! I can't believe it but now I can get the stick off easily!!!! I tried all of the above suggestions, except using silicone spray lubricant, and the only one that worked was to remove any attachment from the bottom of the stick before trying to remove the stick from the canister. There is a flaw in the design and it's not dust or from use because even after my first use when it had barely been used, I could not get the stick off. Besides the stick and the Hair Remover, all other attachments have always detached from the canister easily.
