Try adjusting the ''Touch and hold delay'' setting in the phone and check if that makes a difference.

Not quite sure where it is in Settings so you may have to search for it there.

Also check if the touch sensitivity setting is turned on. Go to ''Settings > Display > Increased touch sensitivity''
