@hurriedcrowd41 start your phone in safe mode and see if it works in that mode. If so, tehn the issue is a 3rd party App. If it still does not work in that the issues could be a bad speaker. "I just bought the phone it has been 48hrs" in that case, do not try to fix it but get it replaced under warranty.
