-The Nintendo DS Lite charge port is not a USB-C port. It’s a custom port which Nintendo used for the Nintendo DS Lite only. A 3DS is using a different (custom) port as well as the Original DS and Gameboy Advance SP are using (those share the same one). The Switch does have an USB-C port.

-Now back to your question! You CAN replace the port! But the downside is that you do need to solder. Do you have any experience with soldering?? You need a soldering iron, a philips screw driver (00) and a tri-wing screw driver (0 and 00).
