If it’s a top loader it could be in some cases the disc rubbing on the back part of the lid or base. To test that theory you’ll need to stick something in the hole the lid clips into and spin a disc up with the lid open. If it no longer makes the noise then it’s probably a manufacturing defect.
Although not a common issue not unheard of either. The fix for that is to figure where it’s rubbing and grind or sand down the plastic
If it isn’t that it’s probably the mechanism needs a good service, or replacing Something I haven’t done.
