Is there any progress on this?
iFixit has [guide|142554|a guide for this], where Apple's [link|https://support.apple.com/self-servicing-account-program|Self-Servicing Account Program|new_window=true] is not mentioned for the replacement to work. If you read the comments there, some were successful, some faced the same issues as mentioned here.
I'd like to replace my screen as well, but am unsure whether I need a screen from Apple's Self Service Repair or not...
