Funny thing. I called Ninja and they offered to swap out the "nonmovable parts" (e.g. base), for $118.  This would clearly not fix the problem as the part (magnet) is in the basket.

I will give this a try and let you know.  I thought it was the silver piece at the back of the slide for the basket.
