I tried Jim Charles's solution and had a decent bit of water come out, but it didn't fix it. I tried this several times without it helping. Eventually I got it to work after pushing a toothpick up through the needle and trying again. I didn't see any coffee grounds come out and it looked clean, but it worked.[br]

I concur with other comments here where it acts like a pressure issue where it has to pressurize so heavily (because a clog, probably) that it taxes the motor and it shuts itself down. It's likely that needle, I'd think and I'm wondering if Jim Charles's solution has water hitting a few coffee grounds from the opposite direction, which fixes it? Good luck!
