Try connecting an external monitor to the laptop's mini DP port and check what happens to the display on it.

If it doesn't flicker then most likely the problem is with the screen in the laptop.

If it is determined that it is the screen, here's the ifixit [guide|52221] guide that may help. Take note that the repair is rated as ''difficult''
