Replace the battery then re-evaluate [guide|148798] Of course, you can always connect a USB ammeter and see how many amps your phone draws from the charger. That gives you a better idea about what is going on with it.
Years ago fake charging was a big issue and it was always related to the charging circuitry on the logic boards, but working on that would be the last resort.
