You probably simpily broke the screen you could try to replace it and condidering it got really scratched up this is probably the case

If you feel comfortable replacing it from what I've seen the screen costs ~$50 USD and there is (in my opinion) a pretty good video by Hello Phones! on youtube ([link|https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G07JEpByHf4|linkie|new_window=true])
