Still not charging with replacement battery and charging port

I tried to repair this phone for my family and replaced the battery as well as the charging port. With the new precharged battery I was able to turn on the phone and noticed that it still was not able to charge but luckily was able to save everything to the cloud. What could be another reason for the problem? Could it be the big black ribbon cable connecting the port and the motherboard?
