Unfortunately, Apple has started soldering down their SSD's in an attempt to prevent user upgrades.
This means that the only way to increase your available storage space is to buy a new one.

Luckily there is a work around. You can connect external SSD drives through your Mac's USD-C ports which will increase its storage capacity but you will have to take them with you whenever you want to use the files stored on those drives.
