-So here is what worked for me, after many bought a with a hairdryer to defrost the water line only to have it freeze again. I turned the freezer to 1 and the refrigerator to 2. I know the suggested setting is 3 for both but as is clearly why I’m here like everyone, the waterline was freezing and then my fridge side was freezing any food anywhere near the back. Luckily it’s my second fridge mainly for drinks in the fridge. Changing the settings as mentioned, has solved the problem for me. But the second one of my kids pushes buttons and goes above 1 & 2, the ice maker will freeze up again and stop making ice. Not ideal at all but at least a current solution to an annoying manufacturing problem.

I know the suggested setting is 3 for both but like everyone else here, the waterline was freezing and then on top of it, my fridge side was freezing any food anywhere near the back. Luckily it’s my second fridge mainly for drinks or food would be getting ruined at a rapid pace. Changing the settings as mentioned, has solved the problem for me. But the second one of my kids pushes buttons and goes above 1 & 2, the ice maker will freeze up again and stop making ice. Not ideal at all but at least a current solution to an annoying manufacturing problem that os apparently going to just be ignored by the company.
