Hello folks. I'm still trying to fix my iPod, but it has been troublesome since I have no idea where to start or what to replace. I think that this issue might be caused by a faulty power management IC or FireWire chip, however, these models tend to short pretty frequently, based on this, I decided to upload pictures of the logic board of my iPod 3rd gen to check which are the parts in the logic board that handle the FireWire 12V output. If any of you'd like to help I uploaded the pictures into this google folder: https://drive.google.com/drive/u/1/folders/1HKlf3wZFGm0KYpov6C2W0G6HTB18WHnC
What's the point of this? I would like to start to create a post that can outline the chips in the 3rd gen logic board, I believe that a handful of us iPod collectors still use and care for this model, being so prone to shorts I think that a guide with the chips that handle and distribute the 12 Volts would be pretty useful.
