Hi @jacksonking

It could be a loose video cable connection (either end motherboard or LCD panel), a faulty LCD panel or even a problem on the motherboard.

To prove that the motherboard is not the problem, connect an external monitor (TV?) to the laptop's HDMI port and check what the display from the laptop is like when viewed on it. Don't forget to toggle the special key (4th key? from left on top row) to switch the display from laptop screen only, to external screen only, to both on together.

If the external monitor display is OK, here's the [http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c03762978.pdf|maintenance and service guide] for the ''laptop series'' that may help.

Go to p.77 to view the procedure to remove/replace the display assembly.

This will allow you to check if the video cable connections are OK or not.

If it is determined that the LCD panel is the problem, it will have to be replaced as it cannot be repaired.

Here's the [https://partsurfer.hp.com/partsurfer/?searchtext=D7N32PA|parts list] for your ''exact model'' laptop.

The part number for the LCD panel is [https://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-d&q=685101-001|685101-001] (supplier examples only).

Search online for the ''part number only'', to find suppliers that suit you best.
