I just received a Macbook Air from 2017. According to the System Info, it has a 1,8 GHz i5, 8 GB RAM and an Intel HD Graphics 6000, equipped with a 128GB SSD.
Battery has about 350 Cycle with about 60% of it's capacity left. System is running Mojave 10.14.6.
To the question: For some reason, that Macbook runs extremely slow. I had the same MacBook before and it ran significantly faster.
What I mean with slow:
* about 6-7 seconds to open Finder
* about 5 minutes to boot
* about 30 seconds to open Safari
What could this be? It shouldn't be a software issue, because the OS is freshly installed (at least, that's what the seller told me).. So I'd expect it to be a hardware issue... What though? Would this be anything that's easy to "debug"? Or would it most likely cost me more then it would worth reselling it in that way?
***EDIT:*** Just as a little sidefact.. I just checked and the activity monitor shows basically a permanent 100% CPU usage, about 72% coming from "system" and the rest from "user"... Could it actually be a software issue? Or could it be a problem with the CPU or something else?
***EDIT 2:*** after opening the MacBook, I can see, that it seems like somebody messed with it around already.. Had problems booting, so I opened it up to see what's going on... You think it's worth taking the mainboard out to see the other side as well? Or just resell it as it is?
