Use a strong light and a magnifying glass to check if the voice inlet hole, located at the bottom edge of the phone is blocked. If you can't tell use a vacuum cleaner to try and clean it anyway, just in case. Do not try to clear it using a pin or probe etc as you may damage the components on the board.
Can you still be heard OK when using the phone in loudspeaker mode (hands free mode) on a call or using the Voice recorder app?
