When operating the passenger side window ''down'' button using either the passenger side switch or the driver's master switch, the power goes to the window regulator motor and then should go to earth via the passenger window up button in the master switch.

It seems that the passenger window up button in the master switch works when in the operated position but not when in the normal unoperated position - dirty or faulty switch contact or broken away from earth multiple rail in switch housing perhaps
