The trackpad also has thermal sensors that report back to the main logic board. When this communication is disrupted, it will cause throttling of the processor and the fans will run high.[br]

Most often this is caused by liquid damage to the trackpad. In almost all cases, replacing either the trackpad or the cable will fully resolve the issue.
