@windowsrage you got a lot going on there. You do have the service manual so ste one would be to disassemble the HCD-GN100D. Let's see what all of those components and circuit boards look like. this could be a single board failure as well as multiple boards. Since you have had issues with the button before, take pictures of that as well.
"make lenses more stronger with a potentiometer" that is not how it work. Tweaking the potentiometers will only work for a short while and is only being done on a laser that does not properly read the media. Doing it the wrong way or trying to much will burn the laser out. For now, that tweak will not do anything for your device.

+You will also have to invest in a new multimeter. Nothing expensive or fancy but nevertheless, you will need one.
