***Step 1: Unscrew the Base Cover***

* Locate and remove ***one long screw*** near the hinge.
* Find ***five medium-length screws***. They are spread out: two near each corner of the hinge, two on the sides, and one right below our long screw.
* Don't miss the ***four short screws*** at the front, far from the hinge.

***Step 2: Open Sesame!***

* Use your [product|IF145-259|pry tool|new_window=true] to gently lift the base cover. It's a bit like opening a treasure chest but with more tech and less gold.
* With your hands, continue removing the base cover. It might play hard to get due to some hidden latches, so a reasonable force is your friend here.

***Step 3: Battery Bracket and Cables***

* Unscrew four screws holding the battery and its bracket.
* Note: The battery cable is shy and hides under the touchpad cable. We need to disconnect this first.

***Step 4: Delicate Disconnect***

* Find the touchpad cable (it's the white one near the battery). Gently lift the locking tab (it's a small black piece) to free the cable.
* Use tweezers to pull the blue strip on the white cable, bringing it towards you.
* Now, unlock the battery cable connector. Slide the metal clip away and carefully unplug the battery cable.

***Step 5: Free the Battery!***

* Separate the speaker and Wi-Fi antenna cables from the battery. They're guided around the battery's side.
* Lift the battery out, remembering it's hinged on two knobs on the left. It's a bit like lifting a flap.

If you're putting in a new battery (C21N1818-1), reverse these steps
