Does the hard drive LED light flicker showing software is loading?

Try connecting to a TV with an HDMI cable.  Can you see anything?

If not try holding down the Function key (Fn) and pressing F6 key to turn internal monitor off and on.

Did that work?  If not give us more details off what happens such as the fan is spinning, any LED that light up or flash, etc.
