@moose210 yes you can but really should not do this forever :-). Heat is the archnemesis of electronics. The longer you keep it on, the more heat it generates and .....well something fails.

Your issue sounds like either a capacitor issue or an amplifier IC issue. It may just be time to take it apart and check the power supply.
