We don't have a lot of detail to go on, but this sounds like your display may have been subject to some kind of damage. OLED type displays like the one in your phone can develop faults like this when the LED's are exposed to oxygen. This kind of damage can occur even in the absence of cracks.

The only remedy for this issue is to replace the display. No undoing damage.
