-The Pioneer app? in the phone may be sending the notification because the radio is turned off, so it can't connect.
+If the phone is connected to the radio using Bluetooth (BT) then if you're receiving notifications on the phone and the car is >33' (10m) from the phone then the Pioneer app? in the phone may be sending the notification, because the car is out of range and presumably the radio is turned off, so it can't connect. You won't be receiving anything from the radio
Perhaps check the settings in the app or try turning off BT in the phone and see if the notifications stop.
Quick way to tell depending on the time interval between the notifications is to sit in the car with the unit turned off and check if you still get the notifications and check if the radio has turned on or not.
