I have been an HVAC/R mechanic for over 20 years so I may be able to help someone here. I have a GE model GSS25GMHKCES that is doing the same exact thing. About once a week the freezer thaws, and water on the floor pools from the ice maker. This refrigerator is only 5 years old and is worth repairing. So far I have replaced the evaporator temperature sensor and the high limit thermostat both located behind the panel in the freezer side. Still having the same issues. I now believe it is the main control board. The first two parts were less than $20 and I wanted to try that before replacing the board due to the cost of the PCB. Intermittent problems like these are the hardest to diagnose because it is so random trying to catch it malfunctioning. I will replace it and update here what the results are as soon as I am confident with the repair.
