My 1502 wouldn't power on so I replaced the battery and it was fine until it was left to drain completely. Then again it won't charge and it won't power on. It seems like a strange scenario where the machine won't power on without a fully or partially charged battery and the battery would only charge if it's not totally dead. Any clues what might cause this?

No green light on the charger, no orange either. It seems like a strange scenario where the machine won't take power and won't power on without a fully or partially charged battery and the battery would only charge if it's not totally dead. Any clues what might cause this?
