Try shining a flashlight at an angle close to the screen when it "turns off" and check if there are still images to be seen.
They will be very faint if they are there so trying in darkened room may help to see them if there.
If there are images then it is a backlight problem.

If not then since there's no video either, since you have replaced the power board (hopefully it was OK) it's more likely on the mainboard.
