Liquid damage is a tough thing to try and fix, so what i recommend is firstly the screen. If the left half is unresponsive, then that screen is toast. Immediately after, replace the housing of the device, as that will help prevent this from occurring again.
What likely happened is that something got fried which results in the cable frying and other perilous things. of course, it is possible a chip on the board has died but i can't quite tell from this.
