Replaced battery with iFixit battery kit.

I left laptop unplugged while I was away for a 2-week vacation. When I returned and powered on my macbook, the battery was ~50% so I plugged the Mac charger. The battery, however, remained at 56% with a message "Battery is not charging"  How do I fix this?
