@mikekatopodis the crack in the screen is what interrupts the circuitry of your touch screen. The only way to fix that, is by replacing it. Then do an online search with that number and look for a digitizer.
While you work on your tablet, take lots of pictures. Once you are done with it, take those pictures and create a guide for iFixit. That will help the next person that has the same problem as you do.
