Keyboard not funtioning, trackpad working

So the keyboard on this MacBook is not working while the trackpad does. The system boots right up into internet recovery.

Steps I took:

# Connected an external keyboard, didn't work (except for the arrow keys(!))
# Disconnected the trackpad cable inside the macbook
# Connected an external keyboard, works!

As I understand there was some spill on the keyboard, inside I don't see any traces of that and the logic board seems to work OK.

Any ideas?
