A good place to start would be age 83 or 6-1 which explains how to start the Test Mode - press in this order [TOP MENU], [CLEAR], [POWER] keys on the remote and lists the Power Off Information Code List and what they mean. Does the Test Mode Menu even appear on the TV monitor?

If yes,well then you will know to start doing continuity checks with the on/off button,checking voltage levels in the power circuit,etc.
