We just got a new GE Cafe Fridge. Fluctuations in freezer are similar to those described here, up to 28. Temps in freezer to into the low 40s. Whatever the case, temps like those described in the post make me think that QJJ's fridge is/was an absolute lemon or an older model failing. How old was it? Personally, with the issues we are having now, I am fearful that we might have a lemon.
