The memory of the Kindle Fire is in the form of a small [guide|7099|IC|stepid=30229]. You could theoretically purchase a larger chip and install it but these are not plug and play components. You would need a chip with the same pin out/dimensions and the same operating "architecture" as the original. Unless you have extensive knowledge of the inner workings of the current chip and the one you look to purchase as well as special equipment to safely solder these components w/o causing damage.
