Hi!  You don't need to let Firestick charge.  It just uses power from being directly-connected to a power outlet (using a power supply).  Personally, I use this guide on fixing [link|https://fireplugg.com/firestick-wont-turn-on/|Firestick won't turn on|new_window=true] issues.  I've had good luck with the troubleshooting in that walkthrough.
