Can't Get MacBook to Detect Battery

crwdns2934249:0crwdne2934249:0:

Hi everyone,

My MacBook Pro 15" 2017 will not acknowledge that its has a battery installed at all. Not in system information, nor in coconutBattery. I have tried SMC reset, PRAM reset, and reseating the battery connectors. One thing I would note is that the battery data cable connector has no clip. It is obvious that this has been tampered with by someone who has no clue what they are doing. Anyway, could this be the problem and is there a way to replace this clip?

I know that the battery is good and I know that the battery ribbon cable is good, so this must be logic board or software / firmware related.

Thanks, Philip
