I concur with @andrewsawesome's assessment that you are almost certainly in need of a new screen, and you can't go wrong buying the Fix Kit from iFixit, which includes all of the tools you need to do the job, as well as the adhesive to seal it back up once you're done.
To be fair, though, that's certainly not the only choice you have. If you can afford it, yes, go for it, but for those of us who have to be a little more conscious of our budget, cheaper alternatives are available from places like eBay, Amazon and AliExpress, among others. For example, a very cursory search turned up this perfectly reasonable alternative on Amazon for only about $25 USD.
