Hi all! So I have a MacBook 13” 2013 that’s been with me for a couple of years. I just came home from backpacking for around 8 months while working part time from my MacBook. For the last month of the trip, my charger started to act weird. I have a third-party charger with a ‘brick’ that has a small light when taking charge and I’d have to hold the cable in specific angles for the computer to take charge. I figured the charger was starting to break and after a week or two the MagSafe-contact stopped taking charge (the light on the connector wouldn’t light up/MacBook wouldn’t charge) unless the cable was specifically aligned. Eventually, this gave out completely. I could see that the power brick was receiving power from the outlet but there was no way I could angle the cable so that my MacBook would receive any power.
I have now arrived home and bought a USB-C - MagSafe 2 replacement cable but my computer won’t charge from that either.
What could be wrong and what should I do? Many thanks!
