-This just started happening to my Samsung. Started in car with fast charger connected. I disabled the fast charging capability of the phone and so far that did the trick for now. I am also getting the "Check your charger connection" message when plugging in to "Make sure teh sable and charger are properly connected" indicating something is still off but like i said Its charging in normal mode at the moment without the burning smell that will likely kill the device.

I am now getting the "Check your charger connection" message when plugging in to "Make sure the cable and charger are properly connected" indicating something is still off randomly. If I flip the usb-c cable the message wont appear. Its charging in normal mode at the moment without the burning smell that will likely kill the device.

+I would like to understand how the charging works and why flipping the usb-c cable makes a difference. I thought both sides are universal but despite the cable and ac power brick I use to test I get the same outcome. One side gives me a warning while the other does not.
