Sorry, the heat is just not able to penetrate the battery to soften the adhesive and even heating the upper case on the other side needs quite a lot of heat quickly as the aluminum just dissipates it.

The solvent method is all there is. I go one step farther as I use the 3M quick release strips instead. So I clean off all of the adhesive then put down two strips for the center cells and one for each of the smaller the outside ones get it closer to the edge.
