I don't believe you have faulty devices, just HDMI format incompatibility. Please check the spec's on your projector as well as those for your wireless adapter and post the format listed for each one here. For example, HDMI 1.2? HDMI 1.1? HDMI 1.3? VGA is much older and doesn't have this issue (but also doesn't carry audio, however, some cables come with a separate 3.5mm audio cable run with it). Try a different laptop/computer of a different age, looking for HDMI port compatibility or use a recent type of splitter/switcher (splitter if issue's on projector end or switcher if on laptop end) on your wireless adapter that's backwards compatible to overcome the encoding issue. I wish I could post a diagram on here; would make it so much easier. Alternatively, you can return your HDMI wireless adapter and swap it for a VGA version, which are harder to find but still are available.
